Share the Magic Foundation respects the privacy concerns of the users of its Internet sites (“sites”) and has created the below Privacy Policy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. We do not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide such information. 

As a general policy, no personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, or e-mail address, is automatically collected from your visit to Share the Magic Foundation’s sites. However, certain non-personal information is recorded by the standard operation of Share the Magic Foundation’s Internet servers. Information such as the type of browser being used, its operating system, and your IP address is gathered in order to enhance your online experience.

As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Share the Magic Foundation cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. 

IP ADDRESS USAGE:

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer by your Internet provider whenever you are surfing the Web. When you request pages from Share the Magic Foundation Sites or leave comments, our servers log your IP address. Share the Magic  Foundation collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration and to audit the use of our Site. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that your session will be logged, but you are anonymous to us. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. We may use your IP addresses in cooperation with your Internet provider to identify you if we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our Terms of Use or to protect our service, sites, customers, or others.

Share the Magic Foundation is not responsible for the content or practices of third party websites that may be linked to our Sites. Our Sites may also be linked to websites operated by other companies. Visitors to these websites should refer to each website’s respective privacy policies and practices. 

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES:

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

COOKIES:

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

CONTACT INFORMATION UPDATES:

If you complete the newsletter signup, donation, event sponsorship, ticket or program forms and share your personally identifying information, the information will be used only to provide you with more targeted content. We may use your contact information to send further information about our organization or to contact you when necessary. You may always opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the “Opt Out” section below.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.  This is so we can recognize and approve any follow up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queque.

To accept contributions via credit card, Share the Magic  Foundation uses accredited online payment processing services with world-class security and data privacy policies. Unless requested by the donor for the purpose of processing recurring donations, Share the Magic Foundation does not store, nor does it have access to, your credit card information, bank account numbers, or other account data sent to those processing services.

EMAIL DATA:

Share the Magic Foundation is committed to keeping your e-mail address confidential. We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscription lists to third party individuals, government agencies, or companies at any time unless compelled to do so by law. If you sign up for one of our email lists, we will only send you the kinds of information you have requested. 

You also may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a web form. We use personally identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests. We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer your questions. We may also use your email to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provide to us by contacting info@readwithmalcolm.com.   You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.  This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. to update your contact preferences and/or request to be removed from future electronic communication.
